JUICY. Looks, smells, and tastes like a darker, hazier pineapple juice. Dank, citrusy, and tangy. Medium bodied, boozy, mouth watering. I had volumes 5 and 6 of this series, I think I like this one best.

A: The beer is rather hazy and a bit pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of coconut and stone fruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the finish has cream-like flavors. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and a bit juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the combination of coconut and cream-like flavors in this IPA. It tastes nothing like something that is 8% abv.

Hit the Refresh button on a hot, humid, downpour, typical Dog Days of Summer weather .... And Abstraction #13 is a decent 3 season NEIPA. My first from my 4th shipment from Tavour.
Looks only slightly better than average with its sufficient foam hanging around until the end. Smells are the style's typical tropical fruit medley; but there is a tree fruit in there and I'm guessing Wild Leap (being from Georgia) intended it to be a peach. Tastes are well-balanced, just enough bitterness to announce its presence; but basically, #13 lets the yeast and malt create the fruit medley. In my mouth (which is sensitive to bitter and too many bubbles), Volume #13 finishes balanced and surprisingly soft.
For the brewer review, I want to know more about Wild Leap. But their website is rather cryptic, as many are struggling through this Covid Crisis with closed taprooms; taking away an easy way for a young brewer to develop a following. Too bad. But, I hope this sheds light on the importance of having someone at the top who understands the Crisis and is willing to create a national policy to control the virus. Coronavirus changes everyone's lives... but particularly those micro-crafters who want to contribute to their community. Sermon over.

Pours a hazy golden orange with 1 finger head. Leaves an island of foam and a ring around the glass with nice lacing.
Smell is nice fruit mix of tangerine and peach with some coconut and a sprig of mint.
Taste starts with a burst of tangerine that introduces peach, coconut and a floral quality in the middle with a hint of mint kicking in at the end. Juicy aftertaste that lingers with no indication of the ABV.
Feel is the light side of medium body with nice carbonation.
Overall a very good NEIIPA.
