Poured from a can into a tulip glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear brown color with a small head of tan colored foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a roasted malt smell, mixed with notes of coffee and some bitter dark chocolate. Along with these smells comes a decent showing of molasses and caramel as well as a little bit of a cola and cherry smell. Light notes of yeast and a touch of nutmeg round it all out.
Taste – The taste begins with a moderately bready, toasted malt flavor that is paired with some sweeter tastes of molasses and brown sugar. At the same time there is a bit of the cola flavor that was in the nose. Some chocolate is present upfront, with it initially weakening, but then getting stronger toward the end. This is in contrast to a coffee flavor, which takes the opposite intensity change across the taste. With these transitions comes even more roastiness, and with a bit of bitter cola nut at the end, one is left with a dark, but somewhat thin and crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is lighter with a carbonation level that is slightly higher. The opposite in carbonation and feel may have been slightly better for the flavors, but given that it is a Belgium style brew, the feel made sense.
Overall – An alright dark Belgium brew. Nothing super exciting, but fun to try none the less.

pours a cola body and a quick fizz tan head that dissipates almost immediately (no retention) and forms a very thin halo
aroma is thin and clean; weak hints of coffee and caramel malts
taste is a muddled mix of weakly brewed coffee, caramel malt, and passive earthy hop bitterness.
lower carbonation level and a medium body, smooth but slightly watery; finishes dry and dirty earthy bittersweet
overall:
meh. this brew has an identity crisis on its hands. ignore the word "porter" all together. this is a dubbel mixed with weakly brewed maxwell coffee. that being said, it's not terrible. it could actually kinda grow on me I had grabbed a sixer and sat on the brew exclusively. question is: WHY would I do that when so many great Dubbels and Coffee Porters are already so easy to grab instead?

Pours a pitch black color with a thick foamy head. Head retention is good. Lacing is very good. Aroma of slightly roasted malts and coffee. Maybe a little chocolate. Overall very light. Same goes with the taste but there is kind of an ashtray taste at the end. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
