This Belgian-style Sour Kriek Beer was first brewed by the Belgian brewmaster, Pierre Celis. His original recipe is the inspiration for this elegant fruit beer. A beautiful combination of sour Cherry juice, unmalted wheat and their own proprietary Belgian yeast strain. For those who enjoy a refreshingly sweet tartness.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a pinkish red color with a pink foam head. The head has a great level of retention, fading over time and leaving lots of foamy lace bubbles on the side of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a cherry and raspberry smell mixed with some grainy malt aromas as well as some bready smells. Mixed with these aromas comes a light tart green apple with some apple cider vinegar. At the same time there is a decent showing of hay and some musty smells.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet and sour cherry flavor that has notes of a cracker and bready malt as well as a little bit of hay and funk. Other berry flavors of strawberry and raspberry are there as well, being joined by tastes of apple cider vinegar and lemon. As the taste advances the malty flavors fade all while the fruit and the sour get slightly more intense, with the flavor transitions, leaving one with a sweet and sour dark berry taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and chewiness with a carbonation level that is rather high. Rather nice for the fruit and the sweet/sour, making for an easy sipper.
Overall – A red fruit sour that is on the sweeter side. Overall, a fun one to try and a nice, more dessert like sour overall.

For being a Texas attempt at a kriek, it's very good. I was in Belgium 3 weeks ago. And they know how to kriek.
This is overall good. Medium/light mouth feel. They leaned a bit on the sour side (krieks _happen_ to be sour, but generally are not "sours"), and balanced by sweetening it.
This could be a Belgian-level kriek if the backed off the sour a touch, which would allow them to pull some of the sugar as well.
Like I said, it's a good beer, and I will drink another. Easily the best cherry beer I've had in America.

Rare that anybody in S Tx is putting out a kriek, so a nice surprise.
In a word, Worthy. Has a nice sour cherry flavor, just enough sour, and a nice finish.
Good job Celis, on doing something different on this one. Austin brewers get another +1 on this one.
