From the Mitra in Maarssen
From a bottle into a snifter
Best before April 2019
Hops: Centennial, Citra, au035
Yeast: Sacch. Trois
APPEARANCE: Pours a large, 3+ finger, medium looking, fluffy head with great retention. Head loosens up and quickly gets rather airy. Hazy gamboge color with piles of carbonation running up the middle. Head slowly fades to a full, foamy cap and leaves lacing clinging to the glass. A good foamy cap remains leaving sheets of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Fruity and citrus aromas with honeydew melon on the nose. Grapefruit, watermelon, peaches and nectarines, with a bit of hay as well. Bold as well. Nice stuff.
TASTE: Grapefruit flavors, hay and grassy flavors up front. Notes of sweet melon at the swallow, then a medium finish of grapefruit, peaches, Belgian yeasty esters and hay, as well as some sweet honeydew melon lingers on the palate. A light bitterness as well. Flavorful and enjoyable for sure.
PALATE: Medium body and slightly higher levels of carbonation. Very creamy on the palate, soft, goes down smooth and finishes a bit drier. Nice feel.
OVERALL: Good stuff, overall. The head is a little massive on this one but the flavors and aromas work, while the feel is really nice. The au035 hop adds a nice peachy twist to it too. The Belgian yeast strain clearly imparts more esters and hay character than a more “traditional” American style, or even an English style IPA would have. Still, if you like the Belgian twist on your American hops, this will deliver. Check it out if you can. Cheers!

This was the second of 2 biers I had at the brewpub in Utrecht on 23SEP17. A 0.25l draft cost me €4.40. It was noted that they used Sacch Trois yeast for this one.
My glass held a bright, lovely, medium-gold brew. Had a cream, white head; started at 1/4" and slowly ebbed, with solid lacing. Had a mild citrus nose, but not much else in the aroma. Was quite smooth, and the body was a solid medium.
Tasted lots of fruitiness here - grapefruit and pineapple most notably. Was a touch rindy, with lots of fruity esters, and it had a funky finish. Pretty nice! Zum Wohl!!
