Bottled, poured like bottle conditioned just in case and I’ll hazard a guess that this came from Otter’s Tears
Pours a jet black body with thick luxurious tan head
Aroma is coal tar soap and coal dust
Flavour is burned toast with bramble jam and fine patisserie powdered sugar

Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utrecht. Cheers!
From a bottle into a snifter
Best Before April 2020
Hops: Zeus, Warrior, UK Goldings
Yeast: US-05
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a three finger, medium looking, creamy tan head with great retention. Black body with medium carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a full, foamy cap and leaves some decent lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Roasted malts, leather and some decent tobacco, dried fruits, with notes of milk chocolate and some nice coffee and cream aromas as well.
TASTE: Roasted malts, coffee flavors, milk chocolate, leather and some tobacco up front. Flavorful for sure. Lots of bitterness at the swallow, moving into a bold and lingering finish of roasted malts, burnt notes, milk chocolate, leathery flavors, a good dose of tobacco and some big, creamy coffee bitterness as well. Quite a dose of tobacco and bitter coffee lingers on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. A little lighter on the palate, foamy as well, goes down fine and finishes a bit drier for the style. Lots of bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: This is a nice, bold, relatively bitter interpretation of the style. Enjoyable for sure, with lots of bitter coffee flavors and leather to accompany the roasted character of the beer. This one and the Twisted Kipper have been a good start for this local place out of Utrecht. Well worth checking out if you’re a fan of the more bitter and leather-tobacco type of imperial stouts from this side of the pond. Good stuff all around. Cheers!
NOTE: The batch with best before Jan 2021 is rather off-putting. Overly foamy and metallic in flavor. Something is definitely off.

Classic russian imperial stout. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and some dried dark fruits. Nice balance of bitter and bready elements. Medium bodied for style
