clever idea, and served on nitro here, neat beer, didnt love it, but its fun, and thats the point most of the time i think. strawberries and chocolate as the name suggests, if there is real fruit in this i would be surprised, and if there is, i dont think they did a great job flatting it with the rest of the recipe, like the whole thing is candy sweet to me, not gross or anything but if the strawberries are this sweet they should have leaned into the roasted bitterness of the dark grain a little more for balance, or went a bit heavier on cocoa nibs or something, its more desserty than i want it to be, although the nitro creaminess is really nice, adds a lot to this and flatters the more natural tasting chocolate aspect. light smoke to this, molasses and maybe cigar for a flash too, some nice malt layering to it, but the strawberry smells like red hard candy and tastes sweetened or somehow enhanced, even a freeze dried concentrated thing about it, not sure what they actually used. subtle licorice at the end, milk chocolate and dark chocolate together, and some chocolate malt too. i like the texture but wish it were drier, and the chocolate and strawberry fusion is an obvious pairing, but they dont quite capture it at its best. i respect the effort, great beer list in here!
