Named after the infamous Irish street gang of New York City's Five Points and brewed with local floor malted barley, oats, and traditional roasted barley for a bittersweet chocolate finish.

Can purchased at Catskill Mountain Moonshine in Saugerties, NY.
This one pours a dark-ish black color, with a rich foamy head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like very dark chocolate, with lots of roasted malt.
This is very straightforward, a better knockoff of Guinness for sure, with a thicker and creamier feel to it. There’s a nice roastiness, some char, and lots of dark chocolate, and just a touch of herbal hop character.
This is creamy and rich, and quite drinkable.
Any sort of lower ABV style is going to be right in the wheelhouse of West Kill.

A: Clear, jet black pour within maroon to vibrant ruby highlights. Head never really forms; it actually looks like the broken cream on an Irish car bomb left to sit. I get it's not nitro, but it it could be better.
S: Mostly coffee with secondary roasted grain. Coffee notes are earthy with carob, hickory, granola. Subdued and somewhat bland.
M: Has a significant enough body to carry the weighty flavor of the malt while managing to be airy in feel like a cream puff. I'm left taking a sip thinking that's all... where's the chewy, dense breadiness? I like that I can drink a lot of these.
T: Roasted and unsweetened malty, graininess to start: muesli in unsweetened oat milk, dashes of currant-like acidity, and so smooth I taste cream. A slight nuttiness yields to demure chocolate aftertaste. Very impactful, but nuanced malt flavor.
