MONDAI (meaning “Problem” in Japanese). Citrusy aromatics. Clean & balanced bitterness. A true elegant, honest & naked IPA without all the fuss.

A-Super bright and clear gold and yellow with a thin white head
S- sweet citrus aroma with elements of candied fruit and the
M-Dry, crisp mouthfeel, with medium carbonation
T-Citrus fruit pith flavour is distinct and assertive, with a mellow bitterness that hits early and lingers
O-As advertised this is a no excuses, upfront IPA that is well balanced and plays out clean. It is reminiscent of Lawson’s Session #2

Got in a BIF from Coronaeus. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, unreadable can dating. Pours crystal clear medium golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red apple, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red apple, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red apple, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 5.7%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp/clean to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not aggressive. Feels like Columbus, Centennial, and Sorachi Ace. Very vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hop complexity; with a great balancing clean pale malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on West coast style example. Very straightforward as advertised.
