The body verges on midnight black, layered with a full, thick head, the colour of a hot chocolate. Several minutes retention.
Very light aroma, whiffs of chocolate and marshmallow.
Flavours of dark roast malt, marshmallow (there's a s'mores quality to it), dark caramel, toffee, hazlenut - all of these are subtle. Subdued and mellow at first, but tasty and full. Pure and clean, low acidity and no tartness. Medium body and carbonation. Mouth-coating, softly creamy. Bitter roast notes grow over time (becoming quite strong), and dominate the dry finish, coming out stronger and with length.
An enjoyable, roasty bitter stout. Nothing groundbreaking, simple and flavourful.
