KIRI | 霧 (meaning: mist) combines dried orange peel, coriander, flaked wheat and a small percentage of oats in the grist to create a straw-coloured Belgian wheat ale we hope Pierre Celis would approve. The oats are key here, providing a delightful creamy texture that stages notes of tangerine pith, bright lemon, spice, and a hint of under ripe banana. Light and bubbly with a dry finish, our Belgian Wit is a delicate example of a style that was almost lost to history. We raise our glass and thank god its not!

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 355mL in a pint glass. From Small Batch Dispatch's September curation. Canned April 16/25. My 14th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 11th for 2025. Lovingly recommended by Sundae the cat...

A 355ml can dated 16 April, 2025. A one finger, fine white head on a cloudy light amber. The head diminishes to a layer.
Wheat and slight coriander in the nose. Tastes of orange peel up front with wheat malts and coriander bringing up the rear.
A creamy texture. Medium/light body with moderate carbonation. Overall a fine Witbier. True to the style, it manages to express the peel and coriander in a way that many Witbiers from other brewers fail to do. Generally Godspeed focuses on East European styles, but this beer shows that they can creditably interpret other styles as well.

Dull, slightly hazy gold, like lemon juice, capped with a fizzy white head that has a minute or so retention before sparkling away to a rim.
Lovely nose - floral spices (coriander), a touch of smokey, yeasty funk, and a whisper of clementine. Banana marashmallow.
Taste follows with the same floral spice, though not as dominate as in the aroma. Sweet caramel malt, oats, almond paste. Meringue. A little short on effervescence, carbonation is light. Though to be fair, this does impart a creaminess to the feel. Medium body.
Quite interesting, I ended up enjoying the feel despite the light carbonation, as it suits the flavour, creating a sense that is cake like.
