Deep dark brown body bordering on black, building a beautiful, dense, milk chocolate head with solid retention.
Faint aromas of dark chocolate, dark roast coffee.
Velvety dark roast malts flavours balanced well with fairly aggressive hop bitterness; it works because the hops aren't competing with flavour, rather are there as a simple bitter agent to balance the rich malt flavours. Silky, soft feel, medium full, with fine medium-light carbonation. Dry finish. Bitter dark chocolate, like 90%, rich espresso notes, and whispers of roasted almonds.
Maybe not for dessert pairings with that bitterness, but would make for a nice late treat on it's own for fall/winter/spring nights. It isn't timid!
