Tōbetsu, our new series of Trappist-inspired ales, seeks to strengthen our connection to the varied Trappist ales that first made us wonder about beer’s manifold potential.
Tōbetsu Blond is our traditional take on a Trappist-inspired blond ale, brewed with specialty sourced whole cone Saaz hops. Its phenols, ester profile, and layered malt character play in tandem with those noble hops in the forefront to provide notes of clove, baked pear, and banana.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 355mL in a pint glass. From Small Batch Dispatch's November curation. Canned July 16/25. My 15th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 12th for 2025. Adamantly appreciated and adored by Sundae the cat...

From a 355ml can packaged on July 16 2025. Poured into a pint glass. A two finger fine white head on a hazy dirty gold. The head diminishes to a ring.
Some spicy, fruity malts in the nose. The first sip is some fruity esters. Moderately sweet and fruity. A low hop bitterness.
Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced and true to the style. Overall a decent but unremarkable Belgian Blonde.

A Clean blond, not too much yeast is good, a kiss of hops. On tap at Arabella. Drinkable stuff, once. Feels like a popular choice to be. Mouthfeel ok.

Cloudy, dull gold body, forming a strong, angel white head, fine bubbles, with good retention of a few minutes.
Soft and mellow yeast aromas, banana, umami, faint coriander, honey, bready malt. Very nice.
Taste is delicate light caramel and fatty, lightly spiced and fruity yeast notes, balanced by prominent hop bitterness that also contributes resinous flavour; full feel due to a super fine frothy carbonation, though the body is really more of a 'medium' in truth; very dry finish, tingling and cleansing, the bitterness lingering, trailing traces of sourdough yeast.
A solid, easy drinking brew, nicely balanced with a great feel. Only a bit heavy on the hop bitterness and light on the yeast character to move it to outstanding, but very enjoyable

Can: Poured a blond color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some alcing. Aroma of grain and light bready ester is OK. Taste is a mix of grains and cereal notes with some light bready ester with some light unrefined notes and residual sugar notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Not as smooth as I was expecting. Love the brewery but this isn’t the style they excel at brewing.
