Tsumi 罪 (meaning: sin) is our refined interpretation of an Imperial Coffee Stout. Using Guatemalan, single origin coffee from Pilot Coffee Roasters, Tsumi with Chai Tea gives impressions of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and dark chocolate cake with a dry and unapologetically roasty finish.

Body is black like night, capped by a espresso foam head, dense and holding good retention for a couple of minutes.
Spiced aromas of cinnamon, clove, accompanied by floral notes, dark roasted coffee, bitter raw chocolate - a fruity chocolate. Quite unique.
Bitterness is surprisingly prominent, the bitterness of rough espresso, it borders on acrid; spice flavours do break through, again of cinnamon, and super dark roast coffee; finish is dry, the roast malt bitterness lingering; medium-full body and medium-light carbonation, very fine.
While the spice character is enjoyable, the bitterness from the roast malts is unrefined - the opposite of any other Godspeed brew. More balance would make this enjoyable.

This was a cask, I get the chai tea and the boldness dominates the lighter body.Good for what it is as a one time try. Big Chai aroma and a mushroom cloud appearance.
