Kaede #2 楓 is the second batch of our maple-based beer project. This iteration features a blend of 3-year-old Barley Wine and organic Ontario maple syrup (boat loads!). Atop a sweet and delicious sticky maple toffee lies notes of aged sherry, fig spread, and other complex dark fruits with a lingering, chest-warming heat in the finish. Like our first Kaede released last year, we packaged this one "still" in the mode of some of our favourite fortified wines, which lends more body and depth to the finished beer. Our Kaede series continues to slip into extravagance and it’s unlike anything we produce here at the brewery! We hope you enjoy a bottle today or down the road, in the company of those you love.
