A Barleywine Fumé, brewed in collaboration with Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel and Messorem Bracitorium, is a classic strong English Ale with a rich malty profile. We crafted it using a blend of specialty English crystal malts and a gentle touch of Beechwood smoked malt, creating layers of malt complexity and a subtle, nuanced smokiness. Dark dried fruit, caramel, toffee, biscuit interplay with smoke in your glass and the smooth warming alcohol brings comfort as you sip. The perfect companion during the coldest of nights. Sip slow.

From a 355ml can poured into a pint glass. A one finger tan head on a clear dark copper. The head diminished to some foamy patches.
Smokey malts in the nose. The taste is malty and smokey. Defiantly beech smoked malts. The smoked malts dominate but some some toffee and fruit come through. Leather and some moderate bitterness in the finish.
A medium body and light carbonation. Overall a solid English Barleywine. Smooth and well melded. Well worth a try.

Had on tap. Love the barleywine fume movement picking up steam! Very red tinted to the clear brown body, no head save a beige ring. Big earth and smoke in the nose with dark fruits, campfire, and booze in the nose. Taste actually has barley starring with the smoky earth, slight booze leakage in the middle of the sip emitted from the mulled dark fruit, more earth and a hint of caramel to finish. Feel is thinner and warmer verging on hot, need some balancing here, would serve the malt flavors more too.
