a hazy ipa, literally everyone is making them these days. this one didnt look all that cloudy in the glass to me, not clear, but more of an unfiltered than an intentionally thick look to it, short white head on top from the tap. it smells a little soapy to me, and a little estery, like the fermentation isnt quite right on it, but the hops are nice and the beer is good overall, drinking a little lighter than many of its peers. i get what i think is mosaic hops most predominantly, some pineapple and cat urine going on, but bright and fresh and without hardly any bitterness at all in the flavor, while being somewhat short of fully juicy. also some distinct bitter orange notes in this, so it must be a few hops working together, or else i have it all wrong. the grain base is minimal and this is dry overall, so the hops pop most robustly on the swallow. its not distinct enough to be memorable, this tastes like a lot of others, and isnt executed well enough for the quality alone to make it stand out, but its also not bitey and over hopped, and the lighter texture makes it drinkable. it could be cleaned up and refined a little bit, and im sure it will be in future batches, as the other beers here were fantastic across the board in our experience. not a bad one here, just easily the least impressive one we had during out visit and the most conventional too...
