This enormous beer was brewed with a wide variety of grains and sugars, then aged for 17 months in a Buffalo Trace barrel, and finally dosed with Madagascar vanilla beans and nutmeg to mimic the flavors of one of our favorite winter treats, egg nog. The combination of the rich base beer and boozy barrel notes take well to the smooth vanilla flavor, while the nutmeg provides a subtle evergreen note on the finish.

A very solid BA stout base; heavy on the dark fruit and bourbon-soaked oak. As it warms the vanilla begins to peek through a little more. Overall, a really great Barrel-aged stout. That said, was not getting any Egg Nog vibes… which I was excited for.
