Poured into wide mouth grip/goblet glass: color is gold, not quite transparent, head is very thin, presents 1/2 inch thick and dissipates to nothing but some spots.
Smell is tart cranberry, limited malt, lactic acidity, some light mulling spice.
Taste is similar with tart cranberry, mixed malt, tough to pick out the rye, mulling spice is notable but not overpowering and actually a nice complement to this brew. Mulling spice notes are just light cinnamon, maybe light clove or allspice - sourness seems to overtake.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate tartness, no bitterness.
Overall a pleasant winter styled berliner - rye and mulling spice are nice additions but are not overdone, tartness is not puckering but solidly sour, just enough sweetness to balance some of the sourness.
