Diving might be a favorite island pass time but for IPA lovers, its diving into hops that matters most.
Ocean Labs has just the beer for us as Hop Diver pours a reasonably foggy gold appearance resting underneath a stark white foam. As the scent of citrus, tropical fruit and herb skirt the nose, the taste opens with a caramelized sweetness of honey, light toast and nuttiness. As the hops continue to grow on the middle palate, individual flavors of red grapefruit and tangerine give a zesty citrus flare ahead of more tropical flavors of pineapple, passionfruit and mango. Trailing into a balancing bitterness of fresh spruce, citrus peel and hemp, the session takes a slightly bitter balance into finish.
Medium bodied, clean, crisp and refreshing, the double hazy IPA drinks with the sensibility of American traditional IPA with the new hop juice.

Hop Diver has a very thick white head and a clear, orange-gold appearance, with heavy lacing. There is a rich, citrusy and piney hop aroma. The flavor is of white bread crust, citrus, and marmalade. Hop Diver has a medium body and a mostly-dry finish.

On tap at the source.
Pours a mostly clear deep gold in color with a thin white head that slowly dissipates. Rich bready toasty maltiness with bits or citrus and tropical notes. Warming alcohol. Not bad

Presentation: 12 oz. brown bottle with no dates. Served in a Rastal Craft Master Grand.
Appearance: It develops a one and a half finger, bubbly head that goes away quickly leaving almost no lacing. The color is a slightly hazy gold.
Smell: There's a very pleasant, tropical fruit aroma of mango, papaya and passionfruit along with some grapefruit and orange peels.
Taste: Very bitter with a fruity citrus character that's felt right away of pineapple, mango, passionfruit and grapefruit.
Mouthfeel: Quite robust but refreshing at the same time with medium-low carbonation.
Overall: A very traditional double IPA that nails all the signature cues of the style. A lot of bitterness, a big hop presence and a heavier than average body. Despite all this it's still quite refreshing and easy to drink because of the fruity character that masks the substantial 9% ABV.
