Born on the Beach - Sunset Amber

I had this one in a pint glass, poured from a 12 oz. bottle in the Metropole Restaurant, Isla Verde, Carolina Puerto Rico. They had it listed as an IPA on the menu and it sure tasted like an IPA to me. This beer was added to Beer Advocate as an English Pale Ale in 2018 and more recently retired. Perhaps the brewery recycled the name. I dodn't copy down the .abv, but I know it was stronger than 5.0. In any case, it poured a clear light amber/copper color with an average lasting bubbly white head and good lacing. Aroma and taste were floral with some citrus and bitter. Overall very tasty. Mouthfeel was crisp and medium bodied with good carbonation and bitterness. I had this beer with a mountainous serving of paella and would gladly drink one again.

 

Very hoppy for an EPA, but better than the IPAs I've had in Puerto Rico. Excellent flavor for its abv.
