Presentation: 12 oz. brown bottle with no dates. Served in a Rastal Craft Master Grand.
Appearance: The thin, half finger head stays around for a bit and leaves behind a thin foam layer and a lot of lacing that covers the entire glass.
Smell: It's a very pleasant and well balanced scent of fruity orange and lemon with some earthy, malty aromas of honey and freshly baked bread. A dank, musty note comes through as well when swirled in the glass.
Taste: It starts with a strong, zesty, tangerine, orange and grapefruit fruitiness; followed by mellower and sweeter flavors of grains and bread.
Mouthfeel (4 / 5): It's medium bodied and mildly creamy but still quite crisp and very refreshing.
Overall: A fantastic beer that's moderately complex but still easy to drink and refreshing. It's a nice, hoppy twist to the traditional Kölsch formula and Ocean Lab executed it very well.
