Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with almost no head. Tons of toffee, bourbon, raisins, figs, and a touch of brown sugar.
The taste is really nice, although I immediately felt like something was missing. Sticky toffee, a touch of leather, almost a cardboard note, plums, raisins, bourbon, almonds. The carbonation is low. Overall, this is really good, but not at the top of the list for barleywines.

Very dark almost reddish brown with no head. Smells strongly of bourbon booze, with in order of strength: dark fruit, caramel, barley and vanilla. Taste washes the palate in buffalo trace bourbon, you can tell because it is pretty boozy, caramel and barley also star. Barrel character depth is limited as booze runs it, smooth malts are next biggest feature, almost sweet on the end honestly.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a dark reddish orange with a thin head that dissipates to nothing with a few bubbles around the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, bourbon, dried plums, raisins and light vanilla. Flavor follows, with caramel malt, bourbon, plums, raisins and light molasses and vanilla. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess and light carbonation. A somewhat sweet barreled barleywine that leans to the English style with lots of caramel and dark fruit; the plums are ripe to overripe. Carbonation is present, but modest. Nice bourbon, but not much woody barrel character. Fruity and warming.
