On tap at the brewery. Oooh...pours dark like a stout with a thin head. I'm guessing a soft pour from the server. Nose is heavy brown bread with plenty of bourbon straight off with vanilla and burnt sugars. Taste is damn bold. In your face bourbon dries out an otherwise sweet first impression. Dark and burnt sugars, burnt candied cherries, and more and more bourbon. If you ever felt slighted on the barrel aging of you BBA beer, this will satisfy. Lingers nicely on the tongue and brings it back to the brown bread. I really wish this was available to go so I could have it again soon. A lovely monster.

Pours an effervescent & chestnut/mahogany a pinky of fast falling mocha colored head. Stays effervescent through out, pretty viscous
S: Rich Bourbon barrel notes, figs, dark cherries, maple candy
T: The nose all follows over, some leafy hops, loads of rich Bourbon Barrel notes. Dark cherry, rich pipe tobacco, treacle, more maple candy & plenty of big barrel once this beer is warmer. Finishes with a serious barrel smack down, dark cherry, figs, dates, Bourbon & Maple Syrup notes aplenty
MF: Medium/tick body, enough carbonation to push this along, also plenty warming. Teeth clinging stickiness & plenty sticky on the lips
Lethal drinkability, so good. Not sure I see much American Barleywine here other that other worldly Barrel aging expertise. First take on this brewery & I am already in love

Kros Strain/Horus collab Barrelywine #12 Sandhills Crane 24mo Elijah Craig BBA English Barleywine, 13% ABV. Pours brownish-black with a ring of brown bubbles that left no lacing. Aroma is sweet strong bourbon and dark fruit. Taste follows, plus roast malt, moderately sweet, some bourbon burn, but in a nice way. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding to world-class adjacent. If you like Elijah Craig and English Barleywine, this is the beer for you.
