Thanks to @Cornaeus for this Mystery Beer from NBS BIF #12.5 Secret Santa. Identifying marks covered, seems to be a 22oz bottle, only identifier is “10%” written on white paper covering the label. Poured into 14oz teku. Poured a dark red color with ¾ inch of pink head that had moderate retention and very light lacing.
Some fruit at the front of the aroma (cherry or raspberry?)with a tinge of lightly spicy, Belgiany yeast. Light grains in the background.
On the tongue, the yeast was softer, the fruit leaned more towards cherry, and there was a slight alcohol burn.
The body was on the lighter side of medium, smooth (except for the heat), and had a semi-sweet finish.
Drinkability was good, but I think 1 22 at a time would suffice.
Overall, a nice and interesting beer, somewhat reminiscent of Quel Que Chose. Worth a shot if you see it.
