A: Pours a thick viscous jet black in color with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown + dark chestnut brown + dark garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy dark mocha head that slowly reduces to a handful of small patches of very thin film and a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aroma of roasted + chocolate + caramel malts with slightly stronger than moderate amounts of caramel + lactose sweetness. Moderate aromas of chocolate + cacao nibs + cinnamon and strong aromas of spicy Carolina reaper peppers. Hints of aromas of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of roasted + chocolate + caramel malts with slightly stronger than moderate amounts of caramel + lactose sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of chocolate + cacao nibs + cinnamon and strong flavors of spicy Carolina reaper peppers which packs a moderate to significant amount of spicy heat. Finally there is a hint of earthy hops. There is a light to moderate amount of roasty bitterness and a moderate amount of lingering spicy heat.
M: Medium to full bodied with light amount of carbonation. Moderate amounts of alcohol + spicy warming in the finish.
O: Drinks much easier than the 11% ABV would indicate and a nice smooth rich mouthfeel. Enjoyable with lots of chocolate/cacao nib + cinnamon + spicy Carolina reaper peppers. Packs a significant amount of lingering hot pepper heat.
