Single sixteen ounce can found loitering at a store just across the WI border slated for elimination tonight. The name is appealing, as is the implication.
The pour brings a tear to this old, battered man’s eye – clear, shining gold from a lost generation of IPAs. The nose is a straw-mixed batch of pine & malts. Not overwhelming.
No Haze for Old Men is true to its name & the taste follows suit – no hint of pure cane sugar. Instead there is sticky pine sap, pale malts, chased with mild bitterness. Thick. Drinkable.
A throwback beer, this was probably a simple IPA, a “C” in 2011, but in 2020? Solid “B”.

16oz can, no apparent freshness date. Thanks to Ken for giving me a 4 pack to try! Copper colored IPA with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is earthy and herbal pine, fruity citrus, and mild caramely grain. Nice west coast IPA flavors including a bolder toasty grain and caramel malt backbone along with pungently bitter hops with notes of earthy pine, orange & grapefruit, and a bit of herbalness. Medium body, very resinous, moderate carbonation, dry and bitter finish. As expected, this is good. I love the name, as it appears to be a jab at me - I have been drinking craft since 2008 and always appreciate a clear beer - nothing against haze, I just prefer clear.

Tasted in a snifter from draft at More Brewing Co. on November 15, 2019. West coast-style IPA hopped generously with Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial and Simcoe. Juicy, herbal and piney notes with a crisp bitterness and dry finish.

Poured from a crowler. Bright amber body with a white bubble collar and plenty of lacing. Right off the first sniff I knew the hops would start in this one, as they should. Piney, herbal, and dry earthy hop bitters leads orange zest, lime, pineapple, lychee, and lemon aromas. Taste follows the nose, with the hops being so prevalent that you can chew on them, but the good news is that they do not become overbalanced. Crisp and dry on the hoppy finish, where the beginning is a wet hop and fruit combination. Lighter in the body and easy drinking. Nice work More, one of the best single ipas I have had in a while. Please make MORE west coast ipas More!
