An easy drinking Dark Lager, perfect for those cold Winter months. Hints of nut, caramel, toffee, and chocolate lend way to a smooth light finish.

Released 9/22/21; drank 10/26/21 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque brown/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a huge khaki head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Acorn, cocoa powder & faint fresh earth notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Acorn & faint cocoa powder flavors up front; mild fresh earth notes on the finish.
Mild & easy drinking, which appears to be the point. English mild vibes, almost, despite the lager background. I'd have another.

poured from a 16oz can into a dimpled mug. pours a dark brown with almost three fingers of dark khaki colored head. aromas of chocolate pudding, fig newtons, caramel coffee and biscuits. i could burn a candle that smelled like this lager! flavor is bigger on the caramel and biscuit notes. it’s got some bitterness (from the hops i presume) as well as that lager yeast flavor. cold, it’s bitter yet refreshing. the last of my sips were more complex, rich and filling at room temperature. nice, full mouthfeel with less carbonation than your typical pale lager. this is a really enjoyable and drinkable dark lager. perfect for autumn afternoons finishing yard work or evenings around a bonfire.

16oz canned 10-20-20, opened 2-5-20.
2 finger beige head with very good retention. Pillowy foam slowly fades and sits solid at 1/2".
Dark brown, mahogany with very good clarity when backlit. Sticky lacing.
Bread crust, espresso, light chocolate and even lighter dark fruit.
Bolder roasted notes in the flavor, slight smoke/char, coffee bean and a sourdough flash.
Medium body, bright entry, medium + carbonation.
Nice depth of flavor and excellent drinkability.
Very Good to Outstanding.

16oz can
no apparent freshness date
L: dark mahogany with reddish hues at the edges; foamy tan head
S: dark malt, roast, spicy hops
T: roasted barley, anise, molasses, bitter chocolate, spicy & earthy hops
F: medium body, moderate carbonation, well balanced with roast lingering on the semi-dry finish
O: this was a good take on the style, but I kept questioning whether I would rather have a German brewed one...I think I would.

16oz can. No dating on can or on label.
Dark cola colored body, with a clear body when back lit. Head is actually a tan medium cap which reduces to a thin cap. Lacing tends to slide back down into the body.
Aroma is toffee, chocolate, and caramel. Dark roasted smell.
Taste is chocolate, caramel, and toffee, with a slight sourness. Not much of an after taste.
Thinner mouth feel, and dry. Good carbonation.
A good looking dark lager that retains its tan cap, and drinks relatively smooth. Good for the cold weather months.

Had on tap. Very dark brown, no head save a tan collar. Smell and taste are clones as it is not very complex: dry soil base with bitter chocolate, grains, nuts, and toasted toffee, but all in a subdued way even for the style, malts take over quickly. Feel is slightly watery, malty, and simple.
