Brownish black body with two fingers of brown foam that settles into a cap. Dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, and coconut meld in the nose before the vanilla and maple enter in atop it for a very pleasant combination. Great balanced of dark roast bitterness and sweetness. This balance continues into the taste, very striking honestly, certainly a dessert beer with accents of caramel and affogato added, but the roast having some earth tones added again balances. What holds this one back is the hint of a metallic twinge on the very end of the finish on some sips as it warms. Not enough to sabotage the beauty of it all, but does detract for sure. Feel is lighter than one would expect, not syrupy or super roasted but rather frothy and chewy yet smooth. Nice coffee dessert stout, but could have been even more

Served from the can in a Phase Three snifter.
Breakfast for dinner is always a treat. Anyway, this stuff pours a very deep midnight brown topped by a finger of dark sandstone foam. The nose comprises sweet coffee, roasted malts, light toasted caramel, a hint of molasses, and some maple syrup for good measure. The taste brings in more of the same, the maple syrup providing a lovely parting gift near the finish. The body is a hefty medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a sweet stout that doesn't disappoint, nor does it overdo it on the sweetness. Good times.
