Taking the notion of "beer and food" to "beer is food" More brewers scour the grocery shelves in search for new inspiration in beer making, stoping at the dessert aisle.

Rainbow Scoop hits the glass with a densely packed, deep mauve appearance. Opaque and overtly turbid, the beer's thick froth emits a scent of berry, citrus, cream and candy. Sugary sweet with simple syrup, cereal and sweet cream, the early flavors set a cereal stage. Upcoming tartness frames a lemon, lime and sour orange character with bold berry flavor and juiciness before a sweet and tart interplay heading into finish.

Full bodied, creamy and truly tasting like melted sherbet, the punch-like beer could easily be a hawaiian punch cocktail.

Had on tap. Opaque pink pour with a pinkish white cap. Smell and taste are clones: orange, raspberry, lemon and lime combine with the walloping lactose to create the illusion of the cheap tub of rainbow sherbet from my childhood, but wow is it sweet with limited tartness. Feel is sticky, lightly tart, cloys a bit after some sips, and verges on syrupy but elevates at the last second before the frothy finish.
