Named after the beautiful region in Belgium, Meuse Valley is a picturesque Belgian Quadrupel aged in BLiS maple syrup barrels. A strong maple aroma leads into a cornucopia of raisins, dates, figs and plums that’s followed by complimentary flavors of malty dark sugar and caramel. Moderate warmth resolves with a subtle wine-like character that finishes right back where it began with a strong maple sweetness.

2025: First brewed for FOBAB back in November 2021, this barrel-aged Quadruple Ale returns with even more depth and character. For this new iteration, we aged the beer for an average of 28 months in a blend of BLiS Maple Syrup, Elijah Craig 19, and Applejack barrels. The result is a rich, warming brew with layers of sweet maple and burnt sugar up front, followed by juicy plum and cherry, and a smooth finish of bourbon heat and oaky depth.

Aroma is huge bourbon, toasted/slightly burnt malts and caramel. The flavor is Belgian yeast, toasted malts and a mix of bourbon, slight vinous and alcohol in the finish.

Had on tap. As dark brown as one can get in the body, ring is light brown and thin. Gooey maple, caramel, and a smattering of dark fruit star in the smell, yeast is reserved but for a new world take it is lovely. Taste has the same new world emphasis as it is also a dark fruit and maple bomb, though I will say the oak and trace cocoa bring yeast into play a bit in the second half of the sip. The technical purist in me is dismayed, but it is so delicious that I settle on these scores. Feel is where I have to deduct because it is barely a quad beyond the booze and full body, could easily be confused for a strong ale. This was fun, please make more new takes on old world styles please

Pours deep brown with the slightest translucence. Sweet aromas and taste follow a delightfully sticky mouthfeel. Great beer, really tasty, definitely would drink again.
