A certain beer of a certain style that begins with a "D" ends with an "N" and in the middle has a "unkleweize"

A traditional German-Style Dunkleweizen specially crafted for when da good guys storm the field in search for gridiron glory.

Had on tap. Pitch brown mostly opaque pour with a oatmeal brown head, solid lacing abounds. Unfortunately this is the highlight, as the nose is super understated: roasted malt, cocoa and watery wheat. Taste isn't offensive, just doesn't have much there, mostly bland cocoa dusted faint wheat with a watery yeast. Feel is thin, watery, more malty than wheaty. Just like the bears every season, this only led to disappointment

Released 11/8/22; drank 11/30/22 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque brown/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a huge tan head; strong, frothy lace.
Toffee, gingersnaps & faint oak notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Overall the flavor was watery, with toffee & faint brown sugar.
Pretty bland; not one I'll seek out again.

My standard caveat. I rate it here like I do on Untappd.
16 ounce can poured into a weizen glass. Pours dark brown with a nice head. I get a nose akin to chocolate but it's muted because I am getting banana esters as well. I get a nice mixture of chocolate and bread and banana. Medium body. I am getting the best of both worlds of a dunkel and a hefeweizen.

16 oz can into a weizen glass.
A: Hazy chestnut brown color with a large tan head that left rings of sticky lace.
S: Roasted malt and some spicy phenols.
T: Toasty, bready malts complemented by overripe banana and very mild hop bitterness.
M: Medium bodied; creamy, lightly carbonated.
