16oz can
L: brown head fades quickly atop a jet black stout
S: coconut, dark cocoa, coffee, roast
T: sweet like the other Hennas: dark cocoa, fudge, coffee, coconut, roasted barley, lactose perhaps
F: thick and syrupy body, ample carbonation, sweet finish with a bit of pepper and earthy hops
O: I like that this isn’t too sweet. The coffee really helps with the balance

poured from a 16oz crowler canned earlier that day into a SP stemmed Zwanze Day glass. pours a dense, thick, ominous black with virtually no head to speak of. super roasty coffee on the nose with a bit of chocolate. it’s almost not even roasted coffee but just roast in general. same with the taste. i don’t pick up a ton of cocoa nibs and hardly any coconut. that said, it doesn’t taste bad and it’s a lot less sweet than i had originally thought it would be. full mouthfeel; it’s slick and smooth. definitely doesn’t drink like a 14%’er. pretty good stout. would love to see it with toned down coffee and a little more coconut.

Jet black pour with two fingers of tan foam. Coffee, semi-sweet chocolate and coconut in that order of intensity, meld together in the nose. Coconut and coffee work well in tandem in the taste, but then a sickly sweet wave of baker's chocolate and vanilla clash with the pleasant dark elements, a hint of metal emerges on the finish as it warms. Sticky, smooth, gentle roasted, and thick, but most of all sugary.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a very small head, and not much lacing.
This smells exceptionally sweet, with just a vague chocolatey and sugary sweet aroma - not specifically coffee or coconut.
I figured this would be much, much better than it actually was. It's just so vaguely sweet. There's basically no coffee, with a way too sweet and sugary coconut character, and lots of like melted chocolate milkshake. Maybe some barrel character would help tamp this down, but the base beer having essentially no roast to it means that this might be a lost cause no matter what.
This is pretty thick, but also syrupy and just too heavy feeling overall. It's not an enjoyable pour.
This was very disappointing. It's just too sweet, represents some of the more egregious excesses of the pastry stout genre.

Tasty imperial stout with cocoa nibs, coconut, and coffee. The flavors are all good but the combination is less than the sum of the parts. Alcohol is heavy but not overwhelming. Looks nearly black with nice mocha foam. Overall pretty good.

COconut, COcoa,COffee. (CO3, get it?). 16 oz can poured into a tulip glass. I always think these flavors are so suited to an imperial stout. When I first opened the can, the coconut was really heavy. As it sits, the cocoa becomes much more dominant. The coconut is subtle. In my opinion, the coffee gets lost. It's a really good imperial stout and I am really glad they didn't barrel age it. It would have been too much.
