16oz can
the last one to try out of 6 Hennas I bought over the last year or so
L: like the others, it is jet black with a foamy brown head
S: very sweet aroma reminiscent of French roast actually: sweet maple, cinnamon, vanilla, dark cocoa
T: very sweet; loads of dark chocolate, maple, cinnamon, and vanilla notes; earthy & peppery finish but still finishes sweet
F: sticky & syrupy full body, modest carbonation, cloyingly sweet at times and the booze sneaks up on you without a trace
O: good flavors, too sweet for me. The Hennas with the coffee were more balanced imo

Starting to slowly acquire a few of these Henna: beers; they look good. Here’s entry #2 encased in a 16 oz. can.

The pour brings black depth & minimal maple bubbles. The nose simmers with sweetness: maple, vanilla, sticky malts. Nice.

Henna: French Toast is a portrait of balance (& for once I mean that nicely). The cinnamon is hog-tied-and-trussed, thankfully, allowing the other additions to blossom. Vanilla & maple are prominent, malts are so thick I’m having trouble swallowing (never drink a malt shake, trust me). Touch of blackened toast, summer blacktop, caraway seed. So sweet that a smaller can of this would be welcome.

Started out hot but the sweetness caused it to wear out its welcome about halfway through. Still a very good beer.

5oz draft pour into a cylindrical taster glass. pours a shiny black with virtually no head. some traces of dark mocha brown bubbles. heavy maple on the nose and tongue. heavy and slightly sweet, of course, but not disgustingly sweet. the cinnamon and vanilla are pretty tame and intermingled quite well into the beer. they compliment the maple nicely. medium-full mouthfeel; sticky and on the thicker side of things. pretty tasty breakfast imperial stout. i had my doubts so i ordered the smaller pour but i would have happily consumed 10oz of this.

Released 6/8/22; drank 6/16/22 @ the Yarchives.

Midnight black appearance.

A violent pour yielded a noisy dark tan head; almost no lace.

Maple syrup, cinnamon, chocolate & honeyed grain notes in the nose.

Thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Maple syrup, cinnamon, chocolate & honeyed grain flavors; booze heat emerged as this warmed.

Too sweet, but I guess that's what they were going for. A few ounces is plenty.
