Barrel-Aged Coconut City started with a dark and chocolatey imperial stout base tailored to pair with the rich decadence of sweet toasted coconut. We then tucked it all away in a mix of Blanton’s and Barton 1792 bourbon barrels for 20 months before conditioning on a metric horde of coconut. What came out of the tank is nothing short of a spectacle. Crème brûlée and macaroon rocket themselves to the forefront of aroma with each twirl of the glass. The flavor is similar to a coconut and oak sandwich coddling marshmallow fluff and sweet buttercream. A rainbow center of coconut oil rests on top, providing a promising oasis of what resides in the shadowy underbelly of Coconut City.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2022 release, had 6/9/23.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and no lacing. Aromas of bourbon, coconut, chocolate, vanilla, malt, some oak, light char. Similar flavors- bourbon, coconut, malt, chocolate, vanilla, oak. Smooth, a little creamy, a great full body, appropriately carbonated.
Best fully warmed. Lots of coconut, excellent barrels, and a great base. Focused, but delicious.

This well-executed stout has a lot going on. It starts off sweet chocolate, then a smooth and powerful whiskey barrel kicks in, then charred malt hits, and finally sweet coconut lingers on the aftertaste.

char and barrel - coconut is there but takes a rounding out portion for this beer. Very well done!
