500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2022 release, had 9/22/23.

Pours near black and opaque, with no head and a little oily film. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, oak, raisins, some cocoa, a little leather. Mostly similar flavors: bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, raisins, cocoa, light oak and leather. Smooth and silky with an excellent full body that’s appropriately carbonated.

Delicious. Has a strong barrel presence, with loads of chocolate and vanilla. Really enjoyable.

poured from a 500mL bottle into a rastal craftmaster pint glass. pitch black, kind of shiny. quick-to-fade dark brown head. strong whiskey, oak and cocoa on the nose. taste follows and it’s a straight up bourbon chocolate bomb. love it. big, thick, syrupy mouthfeel. lower level of carbonation really good stuff.

Dark pour, minimal head and lacing. Very chocolate and bourbon forward on the nose, even more so on the taste, especially the bourbon. Thick, big bodied, very hot with the bourbon. Brother in law brought it to share at my wife’s birthday party, and I’m glad he did.

Had on tap. Pitch black body with a light brown cap. Big barrel everywhere here, nice depth. Bourbon nose with dark chocolate fudge and black strap molasses, oak with earth and vanilla. Taste is even more barrel dominated, very warm blast followed by cascading bittersweet chocolate and molasses, slight cinnamon dusted char on finish. Feel is very warm, yet decently smooth, thick and medium bodied. Indeed chewy in a good way! It is simultaneously rich and robust.

I had this on draft 3/13/23 @ the Hopleaf.

Black appearance.

Tiny dark tan head; no lace.

Caramel, bourbon, dark chocolate & oak in the BOLD nose.

Thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Dark chocolate, bourbon, oak & fresh earth flavors.

Robust & not too sweet...but perhaps too boozy. Worth a try.
