500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2023 release, had 12/9/23.
Pours a semi opaque dark amber, with a brief head and a little speckled cling. Aromas of caramel, bourbon, rye whiskey, fig, light oak. Smells lightly floral. Flavors of rye whiskey, caramel, bourbon, fig, light brown sugar and cherry, light oak. Tastes generally fruity. Smooth, a solid medium body, appropriately carbonated.
Really enjoyable. The rye barrels are the star here. The aroma is a little more understated than the flavor, but both are great. I’d be good if they made this annually.

Very dark opaque blackish brown no head. Big bourbon and rye meet barley, oat, caramel, cocoa and dark oak with a rounding out brown sugar in the nose. Taste washes over the palate with smooth oat and barley with caramel malt and dark fruit, raisin especially. This current of dark flavor is anchored by and then accentuated about halfway through the sip by the rye and bourbon barrels, definitely molasses forward here with supporting coco and faint char, this is all finished by bg dark cherry and fig. Feel is smooth and warm with deeper barrel character than expected. Heavier bodied with tannin and oat textures. This is the best oatwine I have had in years
