8/24/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Comped on points sold at store temperature on May 24, 2024 at Beer on the Wall Park Ridge (retail $2.49 plus tax). 16 oz with no canned date, distributed to Beer on the Wall the week ended 5/10/24. More Brewing and Beer on the Wall collaboration. German-Style Pilsner, 5.1% ABV. Brewed & Packaged by More Brewing Company - Huntley, Illinois and Villa Park, Illinois.

Appearance: Two primary pours into a half letter large flute glass. Slightly cloudy golden straw colored base, perhaps unfiltered, sustained medium carbonation, generous white head lingers for a few minutes before leaving generous clumpy lacing and a creamy cover. 4.25

Aroma: Salty cracker, hints of pepper, grassy and floral notes back well. 3.75

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, cracker, faint salt, sweet corn, grassy hints but faint. 3.5

Mouthfeel: Tastes a little flat, not sure if age related. Light and easy drinking consistent with style, balanced to sweet, lightly dry, faint bitterness, cracker finish. 3.25

Overall: Not knowing when this was dated puts assumptions into whether this tastes a bit flat due to age or it's just the way it is. A German Pilsner should hold up longer refrigerated just about all of the time, so my score now is it's an OK beer but one which I wouldn't necessarily seek out. Will try fresh on keg and or a fresh drop and revisit this rating if warranted. OK as is. 3.5

Standard caveat: I rate this the way I do on Untappd.

Poured into a pilsner glass. Pale gold in color, clear.

Nice bready aroma. Cracker like mouth feel. Hops seem a little earthy. Well balanced.

Good example of the style.
