It was only a matter of time before the inspiration of brewers to make itself all the way to Hawaii and their central Oahu plantation of Dole. Put together with pineapple, marshmallow and vanilla, More's smoothie sour ale might as well be dessert.
Turbidly gold, Dole Mansion pours much like melted milkshake while patiently pulling a dense ivory froth from its fruit saturated body. The fruit-centric scent of pineapple soon overwhelms the nose with accompanying tropical fruit, cider, wine and cream ahead of a sugary cereal sweetness. As the smoothie flavors soak the tastebuds in pineapple as well, hints of additional tartness bring about green apple, lime, lemon, white grape and gooseberry to help with the offset of balance. Finishing both sweet and tart, the ale continues its smoothie-like tendencies with a sherbet-like refreshment.
Full bodied, full flavored, the pineapple ale is a delicious ale for a few sips but palate fatigue renders the entire can taxing on the senses and lumbering on both the palate and stomach.

Straw, yellow, and color with a very white head. Nose is very sweet. Marshmallow and vanilla are prevalent. Taste is just like nose SWEET! Not too much sourness.

Released 1/5/24; drank 3/20/24 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lacing remained.
Strong vanilla notes in the nose, with mild cookie dough & faint pineapple accents.
Sticky medium mouthfeel.
Vanilla flavor up front; pineapple & faint cookie dough notes on the finish.
Full disclosure: I thought I was buying a single of a saison More made but grabbed the wrong can. Calling this a "fruited sour" is hilarious; it's sweet as all hell. It's a nice enough smoothie, I suppose, but this is not beer in my opinion.
