Collaboration with Ology Brewing Co
“Home Ec Partners” is a nod to Superbad and inspired by the tiramisu Seth, Evan and Jules were making in Home Ec class. We blended barrels of stout aged for 36 months in Eagle Rare and Weller barrels before hitting it with Mexican vanilla beans, Ugandan Cocoa Nibs and Dark Matter coffee

500 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. A 2024 release, had 3/29/25.
Pours near black and opaque, with a quick sizzle of a head and a little oily smear on the glass. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, some coffee, some bourbon, a little oak. Flavors of coffee, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt, light oak, a little raisin. Smooth, fairly thick, a little creamy, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
The add- ins mostly show well, especially the vanilla and chocolate. Decent barrel presence. Overall, it’s quite good, but lacks the complexity of a typical More effort. Pretty strong for a collab though, I guess. Very enjoyable.

Sadly, my lasting impression is this is a waste of really good barrels as the barrel character is really nice but overwhelmed by vanilla and marshmallow in nose. This same duo is joined by the cover-up in the taste by a following wave of coffee and chocolate, very sweet finish with table sugar and more marshmallow. Feel is very warm and has rugged accents but by the end of the sip a completely saccharine nature has taken over, but the thick malts stand up to the sugar enough to save it a bit. What could have been, as is, it is a boozy sugar bomb
