The pour is old oil black, with a light brown head that dissipated fairly quickly (which for the ABV is expected)
The taste leads with chocolate with the vanilla accenting it rather than standing on it's own. It tastes like there is lactose in there, but it;s not listed as an additive. The coffee/espresso finally shows up during the second half of the beer as the sweetness tapers off a little. During it all the stout is present. Soft and smooth, sweet but not too sweet.
The feel is lightly viscous, appropriate for the style, and it was welcome to sip slowly.
OA, I would buy this again.
