16 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with maybe a half inch tan head that stayed around a while. Small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, chocolate fudge, pecans, caramel, coffee and some vanilla. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some molasses and dark bready flavors. Definitely leans sweeter tasting! Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit slick and syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good pastry stout, certainly worth picking up if you come across some!

16oz can
L: rigorous pour reveals a thin brown head atop a inky jet black stout
S: fudge, dark chocolate, roast, nut
T: toasted pecans, dark cocoa, fudge, molasses, cinnamon, caramel, roasted barley, lactose perhaps
F: very thick & full body, modest carbonation, sweet through and through, alcohol is very well concealed
O: really good. Best description would be if you took toasted pecans and covered them in dark chocolate.

After their Henna experiments, More Brewing tries their hand at something slightly different- a luscious pastry stout aged on pecans for that unique nutty and dessert-like taste that's more synonymous with fall.

Thick and black, the dark ale pours like thatch with the scent of cake batter. As a patient froth pulls from the beer's body, a sultry scent of dark roast coffee, burnt sugar, roasted nuttiness and butter maple all point toward fresh baked brownies. As expected, the sweet maltiness slathers the tastebuds with a blend of maple, molasses, butter pecan, dark chocolate, coffee and cream align on the palate with pastry effects. As the stout extends on the palate, more roasty and toasty flavors start to favor the roasted grains for a finish of espresso roast, chocolate covered pecans and caramel.

As notions of both derby pie and pecan pie rise, the undercurrent of praline keeps this session full, plush and pleasantly cloying, rendered to sipping status. Its a beer that drinks like dessert
