Gin Barrel-Aged Wit w/ hibiscus and rosehips
Aged for 8 months in KOVAL Gin casks, this light wheat beer spent a portion of that time aging on hibiscus flowers, rosehips, and citrus for a botanical and tropical fruit splash. A refreshing soft tartness helps balance the fruit and gin notes in what can be best described as a beer cocktail.

2024 FoBAB gold medal winner Specialty&Experimental Beer and runner up Best in Show!
16.9 oz undated bottle with cap and wax poured into the same bloated glencairn style glass shows a cloudy pinkish/orange body that glows almost a yellow gold when backlit. 1" cap of large, thin, white bubbles that recedes to a large island and edge-hugging ring that leaves sparse random bubbles behind.
Aromas and flavors are consistent with the original. My numbers remain the same.
Original review:
Gin barrel aged Mexican style lager with rosehips, hibiscus, and orange peel.
Figured this was the place to put this.
5th Anniversary release, July 2022 16oz undated can poured into a giant glencairn style glass shows a cloudy, effervescent orange, amber body floating a persistent 1/4" cap of fluffy white bubbles after falling from a proud 1 1/2" head. Webbed lacing is nice.
Orange rind aromas lead with a flowery, not perfume-y, background. Really nice. Juniper blends nicely with the added botanicals.
Flavor matches with just enough malt to prevent a perfume domination.
Not sweet, leaning dry, with a lighter medium feel and a clean finish.
Overall a pleasant, easy drinking, really flavorful lager that will not knock you out with sweetness.
