This is the beer that started it all. Mike’s friends like to challenge him and they asked him to make a German Kölsch. He researched the style and played around with the recipe until he found perfection, at least in his mind. Mike’s Kölsch is German in nature, but is unfiltered and has a caramel color with a slight cloudy character.

Really delicious, malty, hazy, smooth. Refreshing, and went down almost too easily. Recommended.

Pours a very hazy straw color with a foamy white head. This doesn’t look so much like a kolsch as it does a Hefeweizen. The nose has citrus notes and some estery notes as well.
The taste is led by bright citrus, with the same estery notes following, and the mouthfeel is medium. This drinks almost like a Hefeweizen masquerading as a kolsch, or vice versa. Nothing wrong with that, and it’s refreshing, but I wouldn’t revisit it.

Much lighter than expected and the bit of wheat added is a beautiful touch. It has the guise of a lager but you can definitely find the German Kölsch roots if you look hard enough. This is very drinkable

Marrvelous pours a medium amber, with a good head and moderate lacing. Color is a bit cloudy cloudy. Smell is typical, but with a light note of honey. The flavor is delicate, with a slight bit of citrus and a honey finish. Very good indeed!
