Once upon a time, Mike was at a craft beer festival dedicated to beers aged in wood. He soon discovered brewers were having a problem with the availability of fresh barrels. Together, Mike and his friend Todd came up with the idea of starting a barrel brokerage to help solve this problem. For Mike’s efforts, Todd gifted a pallet of Bourbon Barrels that were used to age Vermont Maple Syrup. Upon inspection, they found the aromas of Bourbon and Maple Syrup to be sensational and decided to marry them with 42K, a Belgian Strong Ale. From this, Sticky Todd was birthed and 42K’s complex flavor profile has been enhanced with subtle notes of bourbon, maple syrup and oak tannins.
