Pours a hazy, super oxidized-looking dark orange-brown color with a thing finger of off-white head that quickly settles into a wisp and crown that leave rings of lacing.
I get huge sherbet in the nose — peach, raspberry, orange, vanilla — with some old-school orange hops and malt backbone IPA behind.
More ice cream than sherbet-like in the taste. Loads of creamy vanilla. Some orange creamsicle. Hints of other fruits. Very dessert-like, but not cloyingly sweet.
Full bodied and creamy with just enough carbonation.
I don’t think I’ve tried a milkshake IPA that delivers better than this; as close as it gets to “as advertised.” Only it’s definitely more a rainbow sherbet and vanilla ice cream blend than straight-up vanilla. Not something I’d want often, but an exciting 420 offering.
