it seems like anymore these days every gose has to be spiked with some citrus or berry, lactose or vanilla, coffee or herbs, brett pitched or wood rested, its too much, and some of the beautiful simplicity and refreshment that brought the style back to prominence in recent years has been lost, at least in my opinion, so it was great to find this beer, a no frills gose, well made and summery, back to basics and very refreshing! just a very light pale yellow color, a lightly tart and briney nose and taste, simple wheat malt and a pils type barley underneath, piquant and lemony but not super acidic, but enormously clean and dry, like super well done on the lacto, the right balance of salt, faint coriander, earthy wheat, and uplifting tang, lemon character, even white wine elements, built for speed, and just delicious and well executed. i love the light body and high carbonation, and think this throwback is a direction more brewers should head in, sometimes less is more, and this is the proof!
