Canned at the brewery, then survived a 5 hour flight home to Connecticut. I have a feeling the trip messed with the flavors of the beer I brought back a little bit! Something about pressure, altitude and turbulence I'm sure. Despite that though, I really enjoyed this beer and I've certainly have had some blonde ales that don't even come close to this one.
Looks golden and smells oddly sweet with a small, biscuity malt presence. Taste follows the nose. Definitely tasted sweeter than I thought it would. Slight bread taste as well. Really odd, almost syrupy taste going on too... honey maybe? Although, it could just be from the flight!
Really refreshing beer, I had it after a long day of rock climbing with my Longship Brewery shirt on! Definitely would recommend it and I'm looking forward to heading back to San Diego soon to have it without having to check it into my luggage this time!
