With only a handful of brews that seem to make it to America, this brewer deserves better distribution.
My second beer from Slaapmutske (the first was a Christmas nightcap), I also found this Tripel at Total Wine and More while visiting south Florida. I suspect, but do not know, if this organic Tripel is a similar recipe to their Nightcap Tripel. And I suspect this adaptation because it is a very sophisticated brew and would need lots of effort to craft the recipe.
This organic looks unusual, almost an amber among dishwater blondes (a terrible thing to say about one of my favorite styles.) Anyway... Its lacing is from top to bottom. A visible sign of life.
Aromas tell me this is the real deal. They figured out the yeast. The malt and fruit is going, too. But, yeast is this ale's life.
Taste follows, but adds just enough spicing to check and, then balance, the sweet malts.
Feel is soft, creamy and, somehow, moderate to low bubbles.
The only way to improve this ale is for Shelton Brothers to bring it to Chicagoland enough so I can find it.

Poured from the 750ml bottle into a tulip glass.
Opaque orange, with a bit of see through body like appearance, just enough to see a middle column of good carbonation in the center. A few white fine pinhead sized bubbles along the side reach to a fluffy lightly soaped and creamy bleach white top. A good standing easy two fingers tall and bubble bath retention.
Large bready and honey notes on the nose. Excellent thick but also spritzy character and fruited esters, slightly peach sweet a little bit in the aroma, and good but tolerable candi sugar.
Palate gives a little bit more and then some. Simple but with excellent flavors. Lightly fizzy with a hint of good dry body, but plenty of malt thickness and excellent honey and bread flavors. Muted fruits of orange and stone like qualities, with a soft effervescence and mimosa fruity quality. Fleeting finish, but surprisingly large front that drinks incredibly quick and easy. Green soft herbs of sweet sage like character and thyme like a bit as well.
An excellent tripel which nails the basics, and hints at a little more than average. Nicely done.

Slightly cloudy golden pour with a white one-finger head. Aroma of must, grain and hay. Taste is yeasty with a touch of lemon upfront backed by a strong grain flavor. Can also taste figs and light spice.

I was pleasantly surprised by this unknown (at least to me) tripel.
Pours a beautiful gold with a snow white head that lingers well after the first SIP. It tastes and smells of green grapes and a little healthiness, but the grapes are what really stood out. This was a very good beer and I will probably pick up another.

A: Deep golden on the pour with a small head, which fades towards the center of the glass and leaves an island of foam with minimal side lacing.
S: Caramelized figs, dried plums, and slight malty sweetness with a hint of brown sugar.
T: A bit of pear and grapiness, between red and white. Caramel tones on the mid tongue rounding out with dried fig flavors, caramel and ever so slight spiciness. Quite tasty.
MF: Tingly, effervescent - pretty high on the carbonation.
O: pretty good tripel

Slaapmutske Organic Tripel has a thin, white head, a murky orange-gold, highly-bubbly appearance, and heavy lacing left behind. The beer clouds up even more, once the caked sediment is loosened and poured in. The aroma is strong- turned bright fruit, mold, grain husk, and old sugar. Taste is of caramel candy, grain husk, alcohol. turned fruit, and moist, garden compost. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Slaapmutske Organic Tripel finishes wet, earthy, and moldy.
