Oklahoma style smoked helles

In lieu of using widely available smoked malts, we asked our friends at Butcher's Stand BBQ to take the challenge on themselves. This is Oklahoma smoke through and through. Enjoy!

16oz can served in a curvy Monhegan pint glass. Can is dated 04/16/24. Got it from @russpowell in NBS BIF #18.

Pours a clear, bright honey gold with a couple fingers of head, not a lot of retention, leaving a thick dusting or a thin skin. Smell is moderately smokey, more on the malty side.

Taste is moderately sweet, kind of bready with some honeysuckle. Little bit of grassy bitterness makes it seem kind of crisp.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and clean. Overall, nice beer. Like the smoke level -- noticeable and clear, but not one-trick.

Pours an effervescent gold with a thumb of pearl colored head. Minimal head retention & lacing

S: Smokey, bready

T: Dryness, smokeyness, & light breadyness up front. Dryness, pears & smokeyness as this warms.

MF: Medium bod, lively carbonation

A nice restrained take on the style that compares favorably with German Biers of this ilk. This would be great with a Bacon Cheeseburger

Pours a very clear and light amber.

Aroma full of smoked malts, caramel and to a lesser extent peach and white grape.

More fruit mixed w lingering smokiness and herb on the palate.

Light, easy, laid back and begs to be paired with some top-notch BBQ.

Cheers to Stonecloud for introducing some more classic brews into the lineup, and doing it w style.
