Rolled up on Jed down in Dunedin as a surprise for his 60th birthday. It was Miss Dena’s idea put out there 5 months prior, and as such, she was in collusion for the show with distractions & misdirection, well done, D. He never saw it coming due to being old, and we laughed at him. Oh, we laughed at him. This on the heels of a 4-hour morning drive in and up from the coast on the heels of seeing the moms outside of Boca. Long ass drive, bus, meet up, 3 breweries down, head up north, and another brewery at present. On the strip, Tarpon Springs…

Housed in an old pharmacy on the avenue. Step up and in. Sunken doorway vestibule with a stained glass beer & hops piece above, and window nooks to both sides. Pressed tin ceiling & crown molding in whiteish with a buttercup lamp trio on spinny fans down the center of the room, and ductwork to one side. Concrete block & slat wood area floors. Pasty ass stucco concrete walls with framed press pieces, light frog art, and a forward draft board piece with medals dangling above. Merch over there (me, pointing), logo Two Frogs mural pieces to the rear and up front, and a hop painting behind us over shelved snacks, cans, games, & books. Barrels racked and cooperage stacked about.

6 mix & match tables up front to each side of the door, split 3 & 3. A small brewery down past the bar to the rear, and something of a small outdoor space; 4 mix and match tables penned under awning with strung lighting.

Hook shaped glossy plank wood topped bar with a wide high lip & panel base off to the right and back a bit. Seating for 14 on hightop wood chairs. Cold box barback walls with a loooooong framed blackboard on the stretch over vertical wood slat lowers. The blackboard holds 18 non-descript tap handles across a triple 6 stainless panel on center with some symbols (hot dog, cardinal, flamingo, leaf, tandem bike, etc.) above the handles to identify the what what for the people behind the sticks. ‘What’s new’ chalked to the left & the tap list to the right (beer, style, ABV, & price). Pretty much the same thing tap-listwise on the smaller front side of the barback. Flats above and frog figurines along the sills. A small stand up cooler sits on the end of the barback with wine, seltzer, hop water, RTDs, etc. and a crowler crimper up front.

18 taps, a very good mix of styles Lager, hoppy, malty, & sour (Ice Fields, Light Lager, 4.5%; Pride of the State, Pilsner, 5.2%; One World, New Zealand Pilsner, 4.9%; 3 Sisters, WC Pilsner, 4.5%; Bullfrog, Blonde, 5%; Dream Pop, Tangerine Vanilla Wheat, 5.6%; Tandem, WC Pale Ale, 5.8%; Croak’s Select, IPA, 6.8%; Chem Trailz, Hazy IPA, 7%; Leaf Peepers, Vermont IPA, 7.2%; Hot Dog Water, WC DIPA, 9.5%; Cardinal, Amber Ale, 5.7%; Snowmass, Chocolate Coconut Brown Ale, 5.4%; Croke Park, Nitro Dry Irish Stout, 5%; Tiramisu, Coffee Cacao Vanilla Porter, 6%; Relax on my RIS, BBA Stout, 11%; Happiest Beer on Earth, Pineapple Vanilla Lemon Salt Lactose Sour, 5.2%; Flamingo Soup, Strawberry Vanilla Coconut Lactose Sour, 5.2%).

3 Sisters WC Pils was wonderfully hoppy solid; Happiest Beer on Earth was just that, quite nice, Pineapple Vanilla Lemon Salt Lactose Sour, all the flavor things listed were in there, uh huh, normally would not have been my jam, no pun intended; Hot Dog Water, WC DIPA, dankity dank piney, yep; Leaf Peepers, Vermont IPA, not crazy hazy, but tasty, true. I’m thinking 3 Sisters WC Pils & Hot Dog Water WC DIPA for the wins. I really don’t know why I didn’t get into the New Zealand Pilsner and WC Pale Ale, must have been timing or the lack thereof.

Would like more beers here, please, and thank you. And I’m sure I will when I get down to see J & D again next. Chill house, good tunes that my mind is singing to, and our Heathertender today was polite and friendly. Yeah, I could do another session here.

Went on a slightly busy Saturday afternoon and nice place to chill, even if a little crowded (still found parking in back and seat at bar), enjoyed the sports on TV as well as the music they had playing. Talked to the bartenders about the place and that was nice of them considering they were busy with other customers. Selection offered a good variety of styles and the couple beers I had were pretty good.
